BLUF: Ukraine is taking steps to reduce drone-friendly fire by adding visual markings, imposing sector coordination rules, and using real-time tracking via digital systems like Delta’s Mission Control.
Demand for Ukrainian technology exports has skyrocketed this year with 90 percent of surveyed companies receiving requests for export. However, only certain products, like marine drones, are eligible for export, said Kyrylo Budanov, the president’s chief of staff.
A look at comprehensive reforms that took effect in January to improve quality control in military procurement reveals that some companies are struggling to adapt.
With all military purchases now made through the Defense Procurement Agency DOT and the State Quality Control Administration ensuring quality control in accordance with NATO standards, companies are transitioning to internal quality management, though some companies are not financially prepared to do this.

What causes friendly fire – and what to do about it

As Ukraine scales up its use of interceptor drones against Russian UAVs and glide bombs, air defense crews are running into issues with friendly fire.
Multiple units operate different types of UAVs at the same time, which often fly in overlapping zones.
In many cases, pilots have only seconds to identify a target. If that identification fails, a friendly drone might be hit. The risk only grows as the scale of air defenses expands.
